Criminal and Civil Appeals
Meresak Law, LLC, brings nearly 20 years of trial court and appellate experience, working in support of some of St. Louis’s best attorneys, to representing our clients on appeal.

We have researched, evaluated and understand the many rules the Courts of Appeals and Supreme Courts apply in reviewing an appeal, in properly filing and framing an appeal and in determining whether there was error in the trial court.

We understand and excel in applying the appellate briefing rules, crafting compelling arguments, and writing high-level briefs to aggressively argue for our clients and their position. In doing so, we believe that regular communications with our clients and a deep understanding of our client's case are essential to success.

Our firm is creative, tenacious and committed to investigating and reviewing what took place in a case, on and off the record, to be able to develop and present challenges to the appellate court in a way that maximizes review of our clients' arguments.

There is no quit here. We do not give up at the first challenge, the second challenge, the fifteenth challenge. We strive to approach the key aspects of your case from multiple angles to locate and develop potential winning arguments.

While being realistic is an essential part of an appeals lawyer’s job, we are not negative about our clients' appeals or their chances. We’ve seen difficult arguments succeed. We want to be there to tell the story of how your case went wrong, what error led to a wrongful conviction, a negative result, or a jury verdict against you.

We’ve written hundreds of motions in criminal and civil cases and understand the procedures and rules that courts apply in ruling on trial court motions, from motions for summary judgment or motions to suppress evidence.

We know from extensive trial court experience how a person can be wrongly convicted or lose the opportunity for a fair trial. We know the rules that govern motions for summary judgment and other dispositive civil motions and the procedural requirements that can make an enormous difference in those motions, in the trial court and on appeal.

At Meresak Law, LLC, we're listening and in our clients' corner, drawing on our experience, researching, and analyzing the facts and the law to identify every opportunity we can take advantage of to maximize the strength of our clients' appeals.
